Ministry Partners
At St. Philip’s, outreach is an opportunity to offer financial, emotional, and spiritual support to neighbors in the Annapolis area and beyond. There are various ways to become involved for the programs listed. We hope that you will find an area that you feel called.
Anne Arundel Connecting Together
Anne Arundel Connecting Together (ACT) is a non-partisan, interfaith network of 18 congregations and community groups in Anne Arundel County, MD. It is comprised of leaders and organizers building power to improve the lives of our families, communities, regions, and nations. St. Philip’s members attend meetings and actions.
Lighthouse Shelter
Lighthouse Shelter’s mission is to rebuild lives with compassion by providing shelter and services to prevent homelessness and empower people as they transition toward employment, housing, and self-sufficiency. St. Philip’s members serve on the board and/or provide sandwiches for the lighthouse shelter.
Arundel House of Hope
St. Philip’s participates in Arundel House of Hope’s Winter Relief program. Its mission is to keep those experiencing homelessness in the Baltimore/Annapolis corridor from freezing to death during the winter months and to show them the Divine’s love in simple practical ways during our time together. Volunteers share with them the blessing of a broader, deeper faith through serving society’s least, last, and lost. St. Philip’s normally volunteers to host guests for a week or provides a large donation to the program.
Racial Reconciliation Collective
St Philip’s Racial Reconciliation Collective (RRC) ministry was formed to organize, magnify, and unify faith and community groups who want to be or are actively involved in efforts to improve our community in the areas of race, racial healing, and social justice. The RRC is meant to be a space where faith-based and community organizations can come together for difficult conversations and mutual support as we work to build the beloved community. Through the RRC, St. Philip’s is widely recognized throughout our community as a leader in these discussions and has taken a leadership role in promoting the collaboration of other organizations working in this arena.
