Priest-in-Charge
-Fr. Meadows, who comes from St. James Episcopal Church in Baltimore, becomes St. Philip’s fourth rector/priest-in charge since it achieved independent parish status in 1977. He succeeds Rev. Randy Callender, who left the Annapolis church in January 2024 to become the Canon for Mission in the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland.
Fr. Meadows studied business at Hampton (Institute) University in Virginia and majored in Mortuary Science at Simmons School in Syracuse, New York, before answering a call to the ministry. His managerial and leadership experience played a pivotal role in restructuring St. James, growing the congregation and enhancing its financial posture.
His record of leadership, business sense and grant seeking expertise is expected to be invaluable as St. Philip’s continues to grow and solidify its philanthropic position in the Annapolis area.
Fr. Meadows grew up in Buffalo, N.Y., where he attended public schools and graduated with honors from Riverside High School. His journey to the ministry began at another St. Philip’s in Buffalo. He trained in church administration in western New York state and served as a missionary in Haiti, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
In addition to his Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University and post-graduate clinical pastoral education at Sentara Norfolk General, he holds a Graduate Certificate in Anglican Studies from Virginia Theological Seminary. He also worked as a pastoral counselor specializing in grief therapy, supporting victims of homicide and adjustment disorders.
Fr. Meadows is married to Linda Mose Meadows, the author of The Blessedness of Believing: A Devotional Journey of Life’s Lessons and God’s Promises. They have six children and three grandchildren.
When he isn’t tending to pastoral duties, he might be found flying kites at the beach or attending the theater.
